OUR FOOD: SOURCING & INGREDIENTS
At PaleoFit, we believe good food is not just in how it’s prepared but where it comes from. It all comes down to the source. As such, we carefully evaluate all of our sources to ensure we provide the highest-quality ingredients.
This results in all of our offerings being gluten-free, soy-free and dairy-free with no processed sugars.
GRASS-FED BEEF, ORGANIC CHICKEN & PASTURE-RAISED PORK
At PaleoFit, we only use grass-fed beef, organic chicken and pasture-raised pork in all of our meals and jerky products. Our beef comes from a Missouri farm a few hours from our kitchen. All of the beef AGA Certified 100% Grass-fed, USDA Certified Organic and AWA Certified for High Animal Welfare. Likewise, our chicken is USDA Certified Organic. Our pork comes from a local farm who raises all-natural pork that is free of hormones, antibiotics & steroids, and is never processed with nitrates, nitrites or MSG.
HIGHEST QUALITY PRODUCE & INGREDIENTS
In addition to our quality protein, we also carefully examine our produce and other ingredients to ensure it’s of the highest quality. We follow the Environmental Working Group’s Dirty Dozen list which annually lists the produce with the most pesticides; if an ingredient is on that list then we buy it organic. We also follow Whole Food’s Unacceptable Ingredients for Food list; they’ve done a great job of stating ingredients they find unacceptable in food. We agree and won’t source anything that has ingredients on that list.
SEASONAL MENUS WITH WEEKLY ROTATIONS
Our ancestors ate what was available in each season and at PaleoFit we think that makes sense. Our menu rotates seasonally so you can be confident that you’re eating the freshest produce possible appropriate to the season. In Missouri, we have a longer winter and summer seasons, so we blend our seasonal approach to 3 seasons: Fall/Winter, Spring and Summer.
And yet, everyone wants variety; it is the spice of life! That’s why we rotate our menus weekly. It allows us continue to present the very best of what PaleoFit has to offer.
HEALTHY FATS AND NATURAL SUGARS
We believe in healthy fats and natural sugars. After all, oftentimes it’s a little bit of those ingredients that makes our meals most delicious. Our fat sources come from meat protein, olive oil and coconut oil. For natural sugar we use fruit, maple syrup or honey.
